Families of Folds- On February 14th, 2011 Crissie Carpenter got the fateful call that her husband, LCpl. Andrew Carpenter had been shot while on combat patrol in Afghanistan. He passed a short three weeks before his son Landon was born. “Landon gives me the drive to beat this battle,” Crissie said. “I love seeing him as something me and his dad created.” Crissie and Landon have been scholarship recipients since 2011. Crissie has since followed her passion and earned a Master’s degree in Social Work. Thank you patriots for standing in the gap for the Carpenters and many military families like theirs.
